So here we have it folks as promised,
its competition time!!!!
To celebrate the release of my first ever comic 'The Intrepid Endeavours of Cornelius Blow' I will be giving away two signed copies of the comic along with signed Zombot prints.
To be in with a chance to win one of these splendiferous prizes all you need to do is follow the instructions below...
The competition ends on the 3rd of September so get entering folks and please pass it on and spread the word.
Today is a momentous occasion for me as I received the stock of my first ever comic back from the printers. 'The Intrepid Endeavours of Cornelius Blow' is a physical thing!!! It feels incredible finally getting to hold the first step of this journey into comics in my grubby little hand.
This means I now have all my stock ready to take to NORCON and to Thought Bubble. It also means that the comic and the zombot prints will be all up in the emporium very soon. Also I will be running a competition over the weekend at some point to win a signed copy of the comic and a signed zombot picture. So keep your eyes open for how to win.
I've been lured into another game system thanks to the wonderful #Warmongers on Twitter. I'm kinda glad though cos it looks awesome and scratches an itch that I didn't even know I had. The Wild West, Cowboys and Indians. Loved them since I was a kid watching old westerns with my dad. Some of my all time favourite films are westerns, namely 'Once Upon a Time in the West', 'The Good the Bad and the Ugly'. Its that dirty portrayal of man on the edge of law surviving no matter what, Its almost primal.
So when I saw Blackwater Gulch I got a little excited. Now I'm sure that there are a great many wild west games out there but to be fair I've only seen this one so can't compare it to any others. I can however say that my first impression is a good one. Firstly the rules are free, and secondly the game itself looks really simple but with plenty of scope for personalising your games. Plus they have some great artwork in there. They are currently building up a range of miniatures to go with the game which are really cool but sadly not what I'm looking for as I have a particular mental image I'm aiming towards. This is where another twitter recommendation comes in.
Black Scorpion miniatures are making some cracking figures at the moment in the 'Heroic' 28mm scale (ie 32mm) and this is where I found what I was looking for.
Banditos!!!!! A gang of Mexican Banditos. Theseguys scream wild west to me and once I do a couple of little conversions here and there will be perfect for what I want. They do a plethora of other cowboys and the like too so plenty of options. Hmmm now I wonder if I could get some steampunk in there too..........
So far the entirety of my choices involving Infinity the Game have been based around Aesthetics, ie which models were cool. This to a certain degree wasn't helped by my minimal understanding of the game and how different the game mechanics are from any other game I've played. Since receiving my figures a couple of weeks back however I have been looking through the rules a lot more. Don't worry I'm not forgetting the aesthetics of the force as this is a major part of it to me.
Aesthetically the models will all be based in the same theme which will be an overgrown city. A mix of vegetation and crumbling buildings. On top of this they will mostly be camouflaged, although I'm not sure what pattern yet. Hopefully this will give a very cohesive feel to them.
The Metro's are my cheapest troops at only 8 points each which is a dramatic difference to the rest.
Apart from looking cool the Cateran is one guy I think could prove really useful. With a T2 Sniper rifle, Climbing Plus, CH Limited Camo, and CH Mimetism. Im hoping He'll be able to sneak up out of the way and snipe people with relative impunity.
The Chasseur with CH Camoflage, and Infiltration could prove to be a sneaky little lady too, and the thought of an Adhesive Launcher really appeals to me.
Much like the Chasseur, the SAS guy has CH Camoflage and Infiltration. However he has martial Arts L2 and a much higher CC. I'd love to think he'll be able to sneak around and kill people silently in true SAS fashion.
The Mormear is a very different kettle of fish to the others. He's basically the tank of the force with an ARM of 5 as well as Shock Immunity and V.Dogged I'm guessing he won't be going down very quickly.
Now all of these musings are not based on any experience, it's just what I have gleaned from the rules etc. I could be completely wrong about how they play but that's part of the fun. If nothing else they all look really cool and I can't wait to get painting them.

It's only a couple of weeks left until NorCon and my first ever convention and by god the excitement is mounting. I've been really worried up until now that I wasn't going to have anything ready in time but I was wrong. Today is a big day...The Intrepid Endeavours of Cornelius Blow has gone to the printers!!!!!!! Yes that's right folks the prologue is getting printed up and will be with me in a few days. Words can't describe who amazing this feels. To think the crazy little idea I had a couple of years back has progressed to the point where an actual comic will be here soon. So below is a little teaser along with one of the zombotic legion whom I have been constructing in conjuction with it.
If there are any comic bloggers or reviewers out there that would be interested in taking a look then feel free to get in touch and I can sort you out with a PDF version. I will also be running a competition for a signed copy of the comic along with a signed Zombot print so spread the word folks.
It's finally happened!!! I've managed to get hold of a copy of the Bleed magazine. A real tour de force of literary and artistic talent has gone in to making this 72,000 word beauty.
I can safely say that Dan and the guys have truly excelled themselves with this issue as it is not only bigger than the previous issue but the theme is much more in depth, dark and elegant. The only problem I have now is that 'THEY' know I have this copy. I can't let them get it! The truth must be told...... The Maas Foundation cannot be allowed to continue this..............
A while back I said I was thinking of getting into Infinity: the Game. Well after looking through all the rules and bits and pieces that you can get free through the Infinity website I decided to jump in. I spent ages looking at all the different minis and factions (drooling most of the way) and finally decided up Ariadna. Granted Ariadna don't have TAG's or any of the other fancy schmansy stuff that Pan O or Yu Jing have but what they do have is some awesome models. I mean Sword wielding Scots and Werewolves with guns!!! Need I say more.
Now I was lucky enough to get some models sent to me by one of the Warmongers as he had no use for them (Thanks Grant) and this is forming my foundations for what should be a very fun project.
My force as it stands consists of :-
1 x SAS
1 x Chasseur
1 x Caledonian Mormaer
2 x Metro
1 x Highlander Cateran (not pictured)
All of the miniatures are fantastically detailed I'm really really looking forward to painting them up (and buying more).
As I start cracking on with them I'll take pics and post the progress on here, along with any games I get to play.
