As my first time exhibiting at a comic convention, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Would I sell things? would anyone even be interested in my work? These were things that buzzed around my head.
I've been to Thought Bubble a few times now as a customer/excited onlooker so knew that it has always been a friendly con. However I wasn't prepared for how accommodating and friendly guests and organisers alike were to my little stall.
I was not alone during the weekend as I was ably assisted by Mr Brown (aka @WhiskeyMonkey) and the imposing form of the MkII Nacht Soldat (aka Zombot). I was also sharing a stall with the fantastically talented Valia Kapadai (@valium_) who had come over from Greece with a selection of her gorgeous comics.
As with everything I do I always forget about taking photographs but luckily I have a few little snaps of the weekend.
So to sum up, not only was great fun had by all but it also made me even more determined to make a success of being in the comics industry. You could say it recharged my enthusiasm batteries and then some. This coupled with the fantastic connections made and possible projects coming through the pipeline means 2013 is going to hopefully be an even more exciting year for me and in an ideal world would mean I can start earning money from doing things I actually love. Fingers crossed.
A massive thanks to Ben, Rob, Valia, and to everyone else who was a part of this awesomness (including my very tolerant wife) Here's to next year. :-)
