To sum up I would say NORCON is a really fun family friendly convention with a great atmosphere and one I would definitely consider attending in the future. The next stop now is Thought Bubble in November.

It's taken me a while to get round to writing this as I've been a little swamped with all the little day to day things but at last here we go. Last weekend was NORCON down in Norwich and my first ever convention as a stall holder. It was quite an eye opener I can tell you as my neighbour for the day was the Tardis!! Not something you see everyday. As the majority of my wares were Cornelius items I decided to do a bit of character acting and dress as the great scientist himself. Professor Cornelius Blow. It certainly seemed to attract attention the fact I was in full (ish) Victorian attire. Not perhaps because it was outlandish but because it was non sci-fi. There were a plethora of different cosplayers there including at one point a Predator Jedi. In fact it was nice to see so many people just having a laugh and dressing as they pleased. With some cracking craftsmanship on some of them. Here is a quick view of my general set up. I was quite chuffed with how it was all presented but have learnt a lot about what works and what doesn't for next time. With space being one of the major issues. All in all I would say NORCON was a great success. As it was my first ever con I wasn't expecting to sell all my stock and make a fortune. I did however sell a bit of everything and get a fair bit of interest. On top of this I met some really cool people and learnt some new art techniques from my neighbour on the other stall.
To sum up I would say NORCON is a really fun family friendly convention with a great atmosphere and one I would definitely consider attending in the future. The next stop now is Thought Bubble in November. Mike (Elblondino)
